First of all my reaction after watching Slumdog Millionaire: "What's new about Rahman here? I can list down some of Rahman's best number and believe me Slumdog falls much below. What's so great about this movie that it was chosen for Oscars? For if you watch it for the first time, it looks like a general Bollywood masala."
"But there's a change and a difference that no Bollywood director would ever think of, except Neeraj Pandey of A Wednesday fame. The movie is fast paced and covers all the aspects of poor boy and the journey of his lifetime."
"Titles are not always correct and they dont bring out everything beneath it. Same is the case with Slumdog... I don't know why people have created a hype over the usage of the word Slumdog in the title or the portrayal of slums in the movie. "As debated and argued across the nation, Slumdog.. is not about Mumbai slums, its not about the underworld, its not about portarying poverty. The movie is all about love and spirit of life and has been shown from an eye of a child who belongs to a slum and happens to be poor. Those who say the movie portrays poverty, i would contradict it by saying that it depicts the intellect that lies beneath the poverty. The movie is a salute to the poverty and not just a sympathy towards the poor. It tells you that poverty only matters with money and living conditions. Poverty does not affect your brain and till you have a working brain, you can figure out the path to move out of the line of poverty."
